Elster Perfection Supports Gas Industry with Molded ½” IPS EFV Stick

Cleveland, OH, December 17, 2007 Elster Perfection improves upon its design for ½ “ IPS Polyethylene Stick Excess Flow Valve (EFV).

The Elster Gas North American Companies comprise a group of worldwide leaders in technology serving gas, electric and water utilities. Elster Perfection is the world’s leading manufacturer of non-metallic mechanical joining products for natural gas and propane gas distribution systems. Elster Perfection’s complete mechanical polyethylene gas distribution system allows installers to connect with integrity, safety and speed without using special tools or expensive equipment.

Dave Robison Director of Engineer for Elster Perfection commented “The new ½” IPS Elster Perfection EFV molded stick design allows the operator greater flexibility over our previous version by offering a much more compact EFV installation. Our new molded version is available in fuse by fuse, fuse by coupling, or fused to tee outlet configurations.”

The installation of an excess flow valve (EFV) on new or renewed gas service lines is intended to protect against the potential hazards of high pressure gas meter set ruptures due to damage from vehicular impacts as well as damage to service lines from excavation activity.

The Elster Perfection line of excess flow valves meet or exceed all applicable existing and currently proposed standards and regulations.
