Elster Perfection introduces 12" Permalock® Mechanical Tapping Tee

Cleveland, Ohio, November 3, 2008 Elster Perfection, based In Madison, Ohio, part of the Elster Group, announces the introduction of another industry first, the 12” Permalock Mechanical Tapping Tee (PMTT).

Cleveland, Oh, October 2008 – Elster Perfection, based In Madison, Ohio, part of the Elster Group, announces the introduction of another industry first, the 12” Permalock Mechanical Tapping Tee (PMTT). Today’s utilities recognize the significant cost advantage of installing larger diameter polyethylene distribution systems. However, the availability of fittings for joining and tapping larger diameter PE is limited. Elster Perfection has responded to this need by developing the industry’s only mechanical tapping tee for connecting gas services to 12” PE gas mains.

The Elster Perfection 12” PMTT utilizes the same user-friendly connection system found on our 6” and 8” Permalock Mechanical Tapping Tees. Adding this new product to utility operating standards will require no new tooling or training.

“Our customers requested a way to mechanically tap into 12” IPS mains,” states Jim Moran, Product Engineer for Elster Perfection. “Using our technology and design experience we were able to produce a 12” mechanical tap suitable for all polyethylene service line to main connections.” With this addition to the product line, the Permalock Mechanical Tapping Tee offers gas line installers a unique combination of speed, economy, and security when connecting a service line to a 12” gas main.
